WinAudit v2.27 - Free Computer Audit Software

    From the site:

WinAudit is easy to use, no special knowledge is required to use the programme. It is a self-contained single file that needs no installation or configuration. It can be run from a floppy disk or USB stick. Simply download the programme and double click on it.

User interface translations have been kindly contributed by several people, if possible WinAudit will automatically start in your language.

The programme reports on virtually every aspect of computer inventory and configuration. Results are displayed in web-page format, categorised for ease of viewing and text searching.

WinAudit is free, you can use it in your commercial applications and distribute it freely to anyone. Its small size and ability to create formatted emails means you can audit just about any Windows® based personal computer.
    Thank you Schaft. Added. :)

    Nice find schaft.
I was amazed at the depth of information it provides. Handy for the "Great Migration" from XP on the 22nd.

    Hi nIgel,

Don't you use Ray's SIV for that?

    SIV - System Information Viewer

Just click copy at the bottom of the window and all info from that window is copied to the clipboard

Good program, looks like. WinAudit has the same info, but in HTML format for the whole report at once, kind of like SIW | System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala but with what appears to be more information.

<shrug> There are a bunch of these type of reporting programs out there, it becomes a matter of what you want and the format(s) for the information it would appear.

Winaudit is handy - more for your average user - SIV is 100 times more detailed. SIW is somewhere between the two.

    Depends what you are after.

    Hi Si,

Not one I was aware of

I tend to set up monitoring with something like Spiceworks for the more complex set-ups but do like to take snapshots at the start of jobs on systems I don't know - before the work of setting up the monitor.

I use SIW and/or belarc plus system information then cobble a report together, If I can find a singe app I will save myself a bit of work

Looks like I've got something else to try out thanks

You'll need to play with it a bit - the amount of detail and what you can do with it are overwhelming at first.

It's a long time fave of mine. What a great guy Ray is - doing all that work and letting everyone have it free.

Just had a quick look and it certainly looks interesting - especially as its a live output rather than a snapshot tool - I can see a few uses for initial monitoring and troubleshooting
