I wondered if daemon tools could make some trouble in a AHCI system,, I don't myself, if you have tested it and it works, I would be glad to know

    Welcome

I can tell you this, daemon has been the cause of many of the BSODs that I have worked on.

Daemon Tools seems to be completely arbitrary on a standard Win 7 system even. It has always worked fine for me, but some people get a permanent BSOD from it...

I've had issues with Daemon Tools, been using Virtual Clone Drive without issues.

The problems reported with Daemon, extend to most similar software.

Richard is spot on. If the software uses the driver, sptd.sys, it will more than likely cause problems on a Win 7 system.

It would be great to figure out why sptd.sys works fine for a select number of people. Maybe that would allow us to fix the problems everyone else is having.

And that is exactly what the software engineers of the company that developed the sptd driver need to do.
