Adobe CS2 Premium wont install
I am trying to install my old CS2 Premium (Education version) on my old laptop which runs 7 Pro x32. The CS2 installs from 4 installer discs.
This is the laptop => Windows 7 Forums - merkat106's Album: My Computers - Picture
Four times now, CS2 "fake" installs the suite. Basically, the installer goes through the motions of installing by asking for each disc and spending a few seconds with each disc, but really does nothing. No part of the suite is installed except for some registry entries that show up on programs and features.
I can manually install the programs, however, half of them do not accept the product key for the suite (the most important ones). So this method is not doable.
After doing some research online, I have verified that CS2 does work on 7 since many (including those on this forum) manage to get it installed and use it. I tried installing CS2 in both administrator mode and compatibility mode with no luck.
What's next? Is it possible to copy the installer and all the CS2 discs to hard drive to install this? I really don't know how to do it when the installer asks for individual discs.
I can't afford to get the brand new CS5 nor will I try anything illegal. I need this to work especially after having paid $600 (in 2005).
FYI: I successfully installed Adobe Premiere Pro 1 (aka 7) on this laptop, although the program itself is unstable. This is even older than CS2.
And I had this CS2 suite installed on a computer running Vista x64 and it all worked fine. That Vista load is long gone and CS2 was sitting on a shelf collecting dust. :)
