    Codecs in Win media player

    Hi,

In windows media player a lot of file (audio and video) were not running but then i searched for the problem nd found that codecs are behind it. I was directed to this site and from there i downloaded ( site is afterdawn ) Windows 7 Codecs v2.5.7

After installing this codec pack most of the file that did not paly earlier started playing but still i have some file with extention (.rm) that dont play

My question am i correct in downloading a codec pack from net in first palce and if so what shall i do to get all the files irrespective of format playing on this media player

Could try the Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative packages? This will finish install some of the codecs, ex: .rm (Real Alternative) & .mov (Quicktime Alternative)

Do a google and download K-lite Mega Codec Pack. IT does not erase previously installed codec and will expand files that WMP can play.

You may want to try VCL Media Player. I have not seen anything it will not play.

VLC Media Player - can be downloaded from here
Another alternative is Shark007's Codec Solution Pack - download from here.

    Hope this helps
