    Samsung MagicTune incompatibilty

The Vista version of this program for fine-tuning your monitor doesn't seem to work under Windows 7, even in "Vista compatibilty mode". I wonder if anyone has found a work-round to get it up and running?

I'm not familiar with that particular program but there is some basic controls for tuning your monitor within Win7. Go to; Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > and from here you can select the 'Adjust ClearType Text' and the 'Calibrate Display' in the left-most menu and it will allow you tune your monitor to a limited degree.

I have magic tune also. It came with my monitor. Mine says "Beta" and I have not tried it. I read (somewhere) that there are problems with it in Vista and Windows 7. I don't know the way to get it to work but would use Windows 7 tool to calibrate the monitor and maybe see if you can get an update at the Samsung site.

Thanks for the advice. I've already been to the Samsung website but the latest version of the program posted there is for Vista (32 and 64 bit). I guess I'll just have to wait for them to develop a Win7 version.

You could always try the latest Vista version if it's different than the version you have now. They say Vista stuff is compatible with Se7en. Good luck.

Thanks. I've already tried running the Vista version in compatibility mode but it doesn't work.

You might also want to check SAMSUNG learning resource - compatibility to see if your card is listed there.

Thanks. It turns out that my nVidia Geforce 9600GT card is not on the list of supported cards, so it may well be that rather than Win7 that's the problem!
