VX-1000 web cam

I can get the video to work in W7 but not the built in microphone.
Although it is listed in Device manager the mic does not appear inSounds.
Can't work Skype at all. Any ideas

You remember to install the driver/software for the webcam? If not you can find the Windows 7 version of it here,

Pretty sure it needs at least the driver for the mic to be detected and work.

Many thanks. That is a later version than I had found on Microsoft site so I will give it a try. It works in Messenger (which I prefer) but not Skype and I have a couple who won't try messenger. Cheers
