Realtek HD no sound - Windows 7 RC x64

    Hi all,

Couple of days ago, I have installed Windows 7 RC x64 on my laptop(emachines e725). It's running great except the sound. There is no sound at all !!! I've tried number of drivers but nothing changed. Everything seems ok, when I check device manager and sound options. But ...

My current driver is r223 from Realtek website. You can find screenshots attached. Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey man, welcome to the forums!

You are not alone. Several of us have had not luck getting Realtek audio to work. One of my PC's uses ALC850, but there are not drivers for Windows 7 for ALC850. The Vista drivers do nothing.

Please do this for us though...if you do find a resolution, please make sure you come back here and let us know how you did it. We of course will do the same for you.

    Stabgotham, thanks for your reply.

It's really strange to waste this much time with a sound card. I'll let you know if i can find a solution.

    Thx.

Hi Atropin and welcome to Se7en Forums

What happens when you plug external speakers or headphones in? Do you get sound with them?

Go to manage audio devices, right click on speakers and select properties, go to enhancements and choose "Speaker Fill"

Realtek HD no sound - Windows 7 RC x64

    Hi all,

I have the same problem. My motherboard is an ASUS K8V-VM.
All seems to be OK but se7en says I don't have audio hardware.
All I found is installing the realtek driver R2.23 (very boring installation because I had to say exactly 25 times that I really want to install it : this driver is not recognized by se7en)
The sound works well until I reboot the PC, and I've to repeat this operation each time I use se7en.
Disactivating the driver's "signature" (in french's version) when pressing F8 during the boot changes nothing.
By the way that's better than nothing for testing applies that use sound.
I'll tell you if I find the real solution.
