How can I use two microphones ?? please help

hye everyone

I use High Definition Audio Controller

the problem is this:

In windows xp

I used 2 microphones (in skype for example), one in rear (back) jack and the other in font jack so

but

In windows 7

I can use only one microphone. If I connect two microphones, automatically one of them becomes the default one so I can use only this one the default

Use an external mixer, connect the two mic's to the mixer and then connect the mixer output to the PC's mic jack.

What doesn't work? If you have a mixer that has more than one input you should be able to use both inputs (e.g. mics) at the same time and have both on the output. That is how a standard P.A. system works. The PC doesn't distinguish between the mics all it knows is that it has an input on the mic input and whatever the input is, it uses. If you had a mixer with 10 mic inputs and you used all 10 at the same time it would work the same way.

If you are trying to use two mics into two different applications at the same time then it won't work.

XP did not have jack sensing support even for those systems where the hardware provided it - which is why your system used to work

it may be possible in win7 to get the same thing but would depend on the actual hardware and the driver options - on a built in sound chip you may have a way to disable jack switching in the BIOS, this may also be available in the driver.

Other more drastic methods is to physically disconnect the jack sensor wire inside the case

or

ad a PCI or USB secondary sound card

I tried to disable jack switching in the BIOS but I can't find any option for jack switching. I'll try to disconnect the jack sensor wire inside the case

Have you gone into Audio Devices and changed your inputs to Listen?

I tried, nothing working always makes me choose the default and that's it. the mixer doesn't work with input like I said before. I can't believe that the problem in w7 but not in XP !!!!

well, maybe I'll use Virtual-Box software to use windows xp for communications like yahoo messenger and skype

thanks BugOutMachine for everything and welcome with other suggestions
