    Random Popping sound

Hey guys, I recently buit a new PC,check my system specs.

All is well but for some reason when I install the VIA drivers and plug in my 5.1 speakers into the motherboards integrated sounds outputs I randomly get these popping sounds. It sounds like someone is unplugging my jacks....

    What can this be?
I tried the latest versions of VIA.
Realteck installs but I can't use the software, cant find the icon in controle panel.

So what can I do? Everything works as it should with the VIA drivers except for that random sounds.....very irretating.

    Thanks

Is your sound card configured to turn itself off after X minutes of inactivity?

These pops can happen when the sound card becomes active.

Just a suggestion, I have no idea how to stop the sound card from turning itself off on most PCs .

    It's worth looking into.

Sorry I can't go into anymore detail.

It could also be related to latency.

This page is worth a read. There is a latency checker tool for download as well.

    Hey,

Tnx for the advice, will check it out BUT,
-I don't have a sound card in my PC anymore, updated my system specs

-Regarding the latency, I will check it but like I said, the sound only start when I plug in the rest of my 5.1 jacks, nothing happens when I have ONLY stereo connected. It also only started happening when I installed the VIA drivers.
It is either my mobo jacks which is faulty or the drivers.......but which.
I'll try connecting my sound card again and see what happens.
