    help?

I have no audio on my toshiba satellitte L505D-S5983.
It troubleshoots the problem when I click on the volume speaker on my toolbar and tells me that hardware changes may not have been detected.
I haven't tried downloading anything so I have no idea what it is talking about.
I also went to my device manager and it told me there was a problem with the High Definintion Audio Controller, but it won't let me fix it and install it I guess.
Can anyone help me I am not that technology inclined.
Although I did do windows updates just to see if it would pick it back up and nothing happened. I also tried to restore my laptop to a later date, but that didn't work either.

Looks like this is the page(s) for your laptop.

    Model Content Page

At the lower left, click in the box to go to the 4th page, there are Realtek Audio drivers available.
I would try installing these. You may have to install them twice as the first time may uninstall the exisiting drivers. If sounds works after the first install, you're good to go.

Might look around and see if there's any other files you need for Windows 7 compatibility.

    I've installed it 5 times.
    It doesn't do anything.
It still says when I troubleshoot the problem that the High Definition Audio Controller driver has a problem? and it tried to reinstall the driver it won't still. ): Thanks anyway

Well, all is not lost, uninstall it while in device manager and reboot.

You're not the only one to have this problem, there is usually a fix but it seems to be different depending on the hardware.

Did you do a clean install (format the drive) or did you install Windows 7 over the top of your existing operating system.

    There's some info here:

    Model Content Page#

    (Under Support Bulletins)

    and here:

Perhaps someone else who has done the upgrade on a Toshiba can help.
