Also, the Windows 7 disk I used to install windows was not mine. Nor did I buy it. A friend let me borrow a burnt copy of his windows 7.... Damn I should of known it was pirated :/
Will that effect anything such as sound?
It can, will, and did in your case. It is one thing to use a borrowed disk when you have a legit key to use Windows, it is another to borrow and use a pirated copy. For starters with the disk you borrowed who knows what has been done to it.
Until you get a legit copy of Windows, sorry to say but you are on your own for figuring out what you need to get it running.
Awh, I'l make an effort in getting that disk. as for now. I need sound.
Thanks for your help anyway
I just bought a ThinkPad T400, and 8GB DDR3 upgrade kit. After first log on, I realized the Windows 7 is 32bit. How can I upgrade to Ultimate x64 instead?
Thanks for your help.

Ok, to set the stage...I've been chatting with users who maintain that Windows 7 (just like Vista) is a bloated resource hog of an OS which needs to have numerous services disabled to attain performance levels equivalent to Windows XP SP2. The crux of the argument is typically on how Prefetch...
OK, so on my hardware Win7 Ultimate 32bit runs noticeably faster than Win7 Ultimate 64bit :geek:
I Also have a copy of Win7 Professional 32bit, do you guys think that it will run any faster than Ultimate ? being that it wont have all the bells and whistles ?
Hopefully someone here can help me crush this rather annoying bug.
Win7 Ultimate 64bit consistently BSOD during Audio playback (iTunes, WMP, player doesn't matter). I'm starting to think that the drivers for the "Realtek ALC889A" on board the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P are just crap.
memtest found...
