Oh my goodness that does look rather complicated, where do I start?

    I don't think I've got a SoundMax AD ...

It might possibly be better if you start a new thread in that case?

This is the second thread I have been on re this issue ... looks like I'll have to put up with it till I change my PC and stipulate perfect sound from the word go!

I'm not a technical expert and a lot of the advice given here is way over my head

Unfortunately I am not an expert either. I just copied it "parrot fashion". There are some excellent experts on here. Maybe one of them will take up this issue with you soon and break it down into even simpler steps? I wish you the best of luck with this issue as I know only too well how frustrating it can be. On the other hand it brings satisfaction when you finally crack it! Not only did I get the driver installed but it also cured the latency audio issues too! (only after re-installing windows though!).

That's encouraging. I will have to sit myself down and check all the specifications and compose something in hopes some day ... thanks
