Can you give me a bit more info. Soundblaster 16 cards were first made in 1992 and there have been many versions since. Most of these are not supported in Vista and therefore Windows 7

Unless Windows 7 installs drivers for it or someone makes a hacked driver for it, I don't think you will get a SB16 to work in Windows 7. The X-Fi drivers for Vista are still a little wacky on some systems.

Yes, and the beta / third party drivers I tried to use for the Soundblaster live in my old rig tore that Vista install apart....

A haven't seen a sb16 in years, I would suggest sending a few $$ and getting something more up-to-date
