WMP 12 end of songs skipping

Hello. Newbie here, well to this forum anyway. Just wondering if anybody else is having similar problem to mine. I've searched this forum and couldn't quite find the same situation. Here's the story: It was a dark gloomy night...just kidding. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Windows Media Player 12. I've ripped about 15 CD's to library, created 4 playlists and on every song, whether using earphones or not, with about 20 seconds left in the song it skips. Every song. Every CD. Every playlist. I'm thinking (something I try not to do to often) that this is not coincidence or else I am really getting signals from another planet. Does anyone know if there is a patch or any type of repair for this? I know it's insignificant but oh so annoying. Does anyone know if Microsoft is aware of this? Does anyone know where my keys are? If anyone can help with any info it would be very much appreciated if you could pass it along to me.
    Thanks

While not a wmp user I wonder if there is a setting to fade or, something else that is set.

Man, zigzag3143, you ARE good. I took your advice and this was all I had to do. On WMP I took this route, on the menu bar I clicked View->Plug-Ins->other->Windows Live Messenger Music Plugin there was a check mark beside that Windows part, I unchecked it....problem solved. I tried 8 or 9 songs, checked them in regular mode, visualizations and reduced, no skipping (I even found my keys lol). Thank You so much for your help. Just to add a little more info, if anyone else is having this problem, try what I did here. If that doesn't work, then press F1, that will bring up the Help Search box, type in "music skipping" no quotes, I think you'll find your answer there. I didn't need it because I have no enhancements to my audio. Or you can just read Grimmjow's post below. I didn't follow my own rule about checking the Help feature first but it wouldn't have given me the answer zigzag3143 gave me. Just one more question if you're reading this zigzag3143, is there any way I can change the stupid title I gave this thread, I'd like other people with the same problem to be able to find it if they need it?
    Thank You again.

I have found this for you:

...To cure stutter about 20 seconds from end of song....

    Control panel
    Sound
    Speakers/Headphones
    Enhancements
    ***** DISABLE all enhancements ******

(your exact path to this option may vary depending on audio card that is
    installed)
    windows media player skips
    Hope this helps,
    cheers
EDIT: Posted almost in same time. Glad that you found solution for you problem. I'll just leave and my post, for future reference if needed.
Oh, and welcome to SevenForums, its a great place to be:)

Thank You Grimmjow very much for your time and effort. You are absolutely correct. I discovered this as well, unfortunately for me it wouldn't have worked because I didn't have any enhancemants enabled but it did help.
    Thanks again.

No problem. If you ever need a thread marked solved or something like a title change, just use the little red triangle icon in the right hand corner, and write in what you need and send so one of the staff can take care of it.
