    Same problem.

Hey. I'm trying to install my Audio Kontrol 1 driver in windows 7, but when it is installing, this error message comes up: "Please connect your Audio Kontrol 1 to a free USB 2 on your computer, then click next". The Audio Kontrol 1 is connected, but the computer wont notice it. Any ideas? I've tried almoust every different driver i found on the internet, but none of them worked.

    AK 1 issues.

Hi mate, install was pretty simple and hassle free for me on win 7 32 bit build 7100, just like on xp infact. For starters it isnt an error message, just part of the install process. You sure your USB port is actually functioning? try plugging something else into it to make sure, or try another port.If you get the "windows does not recognise device" or "may not have installed correctly" just run the NI installer again and just keep clicking....next next next......

    hope this helps.

The NI Audio Kontrol was actually something wrong with, so I went to the store i bought it in today. They gave me a new audio kontrol 1 while repairing my old. I've tried to install this, and now it actually completes the installer program, but it still doesn't work. I'm not so "computer smart", so if anyone can describe some normal problems while installing the new audio drivers and programs, please tell me =)

Ok Audio kontrol, go to your start menu after install of your AK1.select devices and printers from the menu on the right and a new window will open listing your currently installed devices. My AK1 comes up under unspecified. If you can see it in the list youre off to a good start.next go to start menu and then control panel, followed by hardware and sound.next click on sound and your AK1 should appear alond with any other audio devices.Make sure it has a green tick next to it and if not set it as your default audio device.Try it now and see if it works, make sure you have the right one selected matching the audio outputs you are actually connecting to your amplifier( i use output 1+2) if you still cant hear anything chances are you are routing the output thru 3 + 4, so simply go back to sound and select the AK1 in the list that actually has the outputs connected to the device itself.Hope my explanation was easy enough to follow, if you still encounter any probs just pm me or reply to this thread and i will help you out.It is a simple process really and once you have done it successfully once you can put it behind you and start having some fun.
