Hello Niwrad, Welcome to the Forum.

Right click on your Speaker symbol, click on Playback Devices and make sure that Speakers is the Default device. (By Right Click) At the same time you could try configuring it as well

    I hope this help

Are you sure about the driver being Soundmax? I think its a realtek AC97
Have you tried installing the XP driver?
When you visit the Asus site have you tried the driver for the Asus A6RP as it seems to have a different driver on offer that might well work with your Lappy

    Hey lads,

I'm trying to install 7 on my a6r but just after selecting language and country I'm getting message that it needs drivers for CD/DVD... no one seems to be mentioning this issue in here though...

Did you not get that error while playing with your machines?

Or maybe someone has got drivers for CD/DVD, I looked online for those drivers but could not find anything... thanks for help

You need to update BIOS in your Asus. I did the same in my A6Rp and it helps.

For the audio drivers you need to check the site Realtek
And download the HD Audio Driver.

    Good Luck!
