Not ideal, but you could buy an inexpensive sound card that is win 7 64-bit compatible.

Chances are it's not a hardware problem. Some hardware will not work in windows 7.. especially 64bit windows 7 ..regardless of how well it works in previous versions of windows.

Yeah but P43DE is Windows7 ready as it says in the site.
Dont know what to make of that.

When i google "No Audio Output Device is Installed" i get many results.
And that is disconcerning to be honest...shouldn't they release a service pack
allready ? I mean there are obviously compatibility issues for many sound chipsets or bios
versions or whatever.

Windows 7 SP1 will come out in 2011. There is a beta SP, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Here's a thought.. try the sound driver for the P43DE3.. it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a vendor change a few components before creating a new model#

Unfortunatelly it didn't work.
They have the same size by the way so i think they are the same drivers as it is the same chipset or someting.
