    Stereo Mix issue (Ultimate x64)

So I've been trying to dip my hand into the streaming online sensation and am having some difficulty. I am trying to host an online audio show that takes place over Skype. The way to host it would be to have the Skype conversation as I am streaming my desktop with Stereo Mix, ensuring both input and output sounds are being streamed.

Let me start by saying I've researched Stereo Mix a lot on the internet for the last few days and I have got much better results than when I first started, but I am running into an issue whereby my voice is fine, but computer sounds/music are very static like.

The bizarre thing is, I'll adjust the volume in Flash Media Encoder 3.1 and stream a test, and it will work fine. I try it again to be sure, without changing any settings, and more often than not - I get static again. A demonstration can be found here

I USED to have an issue where the sounds would loop and get REALLY static like and get louder and louder but now I have this issue. I've adjusted bit rates, audio quality settings and so forth with no avail. It seems as though this would be the final hurdle in my 'quest' so to speak in getting this thing to work.

I am using HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card.

Below is a screenshot of my audio settings and FME3.1 settings.

Thank you for reading, and any help would be much appreciated.

Your issues appear to be what audio is sent out, and not trying to record streaming audio from the internet which is what Stereo Mix does. When you are generating audio it is totally separate from the Stereo Mix function (SoundBlaster calls this "what you hear" - or what you hear over the PC's speakers).

Mixing Skype telephone calls, with adding music, etc can get tricky. With multiple programs and some functions overlapping it can have adverse results. Have you talked to anyone on other specific forums such as ones for Skype or for the other program you are using? That would seem to be the place to start as it is application program issues and most likely not hardware.

I have not asked on the Skype forums. I guess I can do that.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
