Speaker Prob in 7 ?

    Speaker Prob in 7 ?


    hey guyz i hv some prob with my 5.1 logitech speakers...when i play a song only 2 speakers r working rest r not..
    i checked these in xp all r working fine..
    so plx tell me how to configure them to work properly in win 7..i hv win 7 ultimate

    Regardless of what version of Windows you are using, if you are playing a stereo file, you will only get stereo sound (L,R). If you are playing a 6-channel discrete audio file (say an audio track from a DVD/BD), then you will get 6-channel sound (SL, SR, L, R, C, LFE). Unless your sound card has an option to essentially create "fake" surround sound, you're out of luck, AFAIK.

    i dnt hv any additional sound card...and all music files in my xp r playing gud in all speakers

    Does your sound control panel (Either Realtek or Via since you don't have a dedicated sound card) give you an option for "Speaker Fill"? If so, hit it.

    Since I don't have a realtek audio chipset, I couldn't tell you how to find it but MY chipset (VIA) gives me an option:
