Windows 7 64bit Pro

I just solved this problem by going to HP (my laptop maker) and downloading updated sound drivers from them -- NOT microsoft. Now everything works fine. Tried Realtek but I don't think I have the right chipset since nothing happened after I installed it.

Works great ... finally! Took 3 days to figure this out!

Headphones don't work for me for some reason. I have an HP laptop, and it has two headphone jacks, but if I connect to one of them, the sound still comes out of the speakers... Anyone else have a similar problem, or is it just me?
