MSI GT680 - Internal microphone issue

[The MSI forum either takes forever for someone to reply, or nobody ever does.]

So I noticed that, when I have external speakers plugged in via the green output, the internal microphone is disabled. When I have them unplugged, the internal microphone is enabled.

BUT, the audio quality is extremely bad and is very low. The microphone level is all the way up to 100, the boost is at +30.0 dB, and the format is at 2 channel (16 bit, 48000 Hz, DVD quality).

Even if I'm 3 inches away from the microphone, the audio is quite low and the quality is bad. Sounds like an old Internet stream or something.

My audio drivers are up-to-date. Sort of disappointing, especially when it comes to Skype (audio quality is very poor).

There are a some other things you can try.
    1. Realtek HD Audio Manager / Microphone / Device advanced settings.
    2. Windows 7 Volume Mixer / Recording Devices / Microphone / Configure / Configure you Speech Recognition experience / Set up microphone.

    1. Nothing special in there.
    2. It always says that it cannot hear me correctly.

Either the integrated microphone is pure crap, the drivers are being stupid, or my settings aren't right. I've tried everything.
