X-fi Titanium Problems: EMI etc.
Hello all, I recently upgraded from an X-fi Xtreme Gamer to an X-fi Titanium PCI-E 1x card in preparation for an SLI config. However, I've recently noticed sound loss and drops about ten minutes of using my audio in games and browsing. There were times of electromagnetic interference whines but I believe that is because my front panel audio connector's lack of grounding--I unplugged that from the card and that stopped.
Now, however, I suddenly lose sound, change modes, and it suddenly activates again. In the past it has crackled and I had to unplug my headphones for the sound to stop, then restart to retrieve my sound. It's currently in my PCI-E 1x slot above my video card but I have tried my other PCI-E 16x slot as well--same problems.
Is this a defective card? Are these symptoms still indicative of electromagnetic interference? Not sure what to do at this point but seek a replacement card or return back to my Xtreme Gamer without the chance of SLI
