    HDMI and speakers simultaneous ?

Is it possible to get sound from TV on HDMI and at the same time through the speakers/headphones from the computer ? If so how to configure ?

It may be possible but I haven't seen it. You can only have one default sound card and in this case either the "speakers" (Your PC's sound card) or the HDMI audio output.

You can install several sound cards if you wish. You need to use cards from different manufacturers in order to avoid problems.

Also, if you have an on-board sound chip, and a sound card, you can use them independently as long as you do not try to use the same channels simultaneously.

The HDMI drivers will also usually work independently, although it can be a bit of a mess on setting everything up properly.

Thank you. I guess I will have to go back to VGA where I split the audio : one to TV, the other to headphones.
My wife keeps the TV audio too low for me to hear clearly. I am using a Dell laptop Inspiron 14R so I do not think I can add sound cards.

You can use a wireless headphone to listen to the TV. Most TV's have a headphone socket. You just plug the sender into the socket.

There are loads of these, in lots of price ranges.

If the audio controller of your motherboard is a newer Realtek chip, just follow the path described in the figure below. Hope that helps!
