    Sound 'popping'

    Hi :)
I've just downloaded the new Nvidia graphics driver 270.61. Before I downloaded this, the sound was perfect. Afterwards, yeah, not so good. I hear popping noises when playing music (and I'm not even doing anything at all on the computer while it plays) and while playing games. My Realtek sound driver is up to date btw... It only pops about twice, then after about 30 seconds it will pop again and so on. When I'm playing a game, any game, no matter how demanding, the game would stutter a bit while the sound pops - as if the computer is loading something - then back to normal again once the popping is gone. The games all run at a decent frame rate. I uninstalled the graphics driver, put on the older one (260.99) and the sound was fine again. I'd really like to have this new graphics driver, without these sound issues. What should I do?

Sorry if I posted this on the wrong topic...
    Thanks

There many posts on here (and other forums) on the popping, crackling, etc. Video drivers are one potential cause of this and looks like it was yours.

I had a gaming problem, not sound, that was related to video card drivers. I had to wait for 3 revisions before the problem I had was corrected. You may have to do the same thing.

One thing you can try is to uninstall the video in the Device Manager, also uninstall the drivers and reboot. If you are on line, Windows should get the latest video card drivers and install it. Sometimes the uninstall and Windows reinstall will put the device on a different shared IRQ and fix flakey problems.
