Problem with SB X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro series

    Hi,

I have a SB X-fi titanium Fatal1ty pro series, is a PCI express card.

Recently I've installed windows 7 64 bit in my computer, and I can instal drivers and applications. I have a 5.1 headphones with SPDIF input, it's the Sharkoon x-tactic 5.1

The problem is I can't activate the Dolby Digital Live codec to transform the sound in 5.1 and play with this sounds. When I try to select the check box for turn on the codec it keeps in disable and show a message, something like... Creative Audio Service donr run, please reinstall.

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall all applications and drivers, but it doesn't work. I dont know where is the *.exe of the creative audio service.

    Can you help me?, please

    Thanks

    dpproject, welcome to the forums.

The "Creative Audio Service" should be on by default after you install the drivers. To check open Services (click on the Start orb and type in services), and see if it is set to on and its startup is set to automatic. When it is running it will show up in Task Manager as "CTAudSvcService.exe".

    Hi!,

thanks for your answer but the problem is... in the Services (local) there is not Creative audio service, only ALchemy, audio licensing and media toolbox.

May or may not help but have you tried this driver set yet?

SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 2.0 (05/15/2009) - Sound Blaster - Creative Labs

And yes i have that service (disabled as i don't have/use DDL).

P.S. Have you tried using those headphones connected via analogue? If not might want to give it a try. Set it to 5.1 in the Windows peaker settings, then set it to headphones in the X-Fi controls and enable CMSS3D,
