Microphone issue

Hi,

My microphone has been working excellent until a few days/weeks ago. I installed an Alienware theme and it somehow stopped, now i have original win7 theme. A weird thing is that when i max my microphone boost to 30+ my microphone will record the sound that comes into my headset and then play to others as if i was speaking, like an echo for them.

Tried re-installing Realtek and Creative Sound blaster

I have already tried to do a systemrestore but it doesn't go all the way back to that date when changed theme. Have also used registry booster to scan for corrupted files.

I've also tried this one out with no success, maybe some of you can get some clarity out of it System File Checker - A great Windows fix tool. (got the information if you want it)

Tried with a real soundcard but it didn't work aswell...

My microphone is being displayed in my volumecontroller. The tab where i can change sound on specifics "Chrome", "Winamp" etc. This might help me figure out the problem, any ideas?

System information:
Studio XPS 8100
Windows 7 Home Premium
6.1.7600 build 7600
x64-based PC
Inter(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz, 2668 Mhz
Dell Inc. A03, 2009-12-09
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240
Realtek High Definition Audio 6.0.1.6299
Creative Sound Blaster Tactic(3D) Alpha

Help Please

Alex

I don't have anything concrete. In fact this may be considered downright speculating .....

How about uninstalling Alienware theme ?

As I wrote, I have the original win7 theme now. What information do you want me to describe? Maybe I can give you something concrete.

Repair windows

So basicly the problem is my microphone, has been weeks now without it working. I was thinking to repair windows with win 7 cd, is it possible to repair any damaged / corrupt files in order to get my microphone working?

Have to ask the obvious questions: Have you tested your microphone on another computer to make sure it's not the microphone itself that's faulty? Also, if your microphone is plugged in to your system (i.e. via a port) have you tested that port to make sure the port itself isn't faulty?

The next most likely source of the problem would be with the related driver. Why don't you check with your computer manufacturer to make sure you have the most recent driver that relates to your microphone/sound issue? Uninstall your current driver and install the latest one. If the problem persists, repeat the process.

There are many similar issues discussed at Microsoft Answers, so why don't you submit your specific problem (identifying your exact system) so that you can get more specific help.

Yes I have, there is nothing wrong with the microphone or the ports. Uninstalled realtek and went to my manufactur homepage to download the recommended driver, still no success tho.... Will try to find Microsoft forums.
