Play sound from TV to PC speakers

    hi,
    Ok, here is my setup:
    1: Samsung LA32D400E1
2: Mecer PC with nVidia GTS 450 GPU and 6.1 PCI sound card (CMI8768) with a 5.1 sound system connected.
So my question is, how do I play sound from my TV programs to the PC speakers using HDMI cable? At the moment I am using a 3.5mm male to male jack from TV audio out to PCI sound card Line in. The TV and the GPU both have HDMI ports and I have ONLY the TV connected to the PC as its primary monitor.
Please note that I have looked online extensively but the only solutions I can find is playing sound from PC to TV, NOT the other way round.
Any help will be most appreciated.
    Thanking you.

I've just had a quick look and it doesn't look like your graphics card has an audio return channel on the hdmi, if your TV and sound card have optical ports (optical out on TV) then that is probably the best way to do it.

Good day, thank you for your reply, however, according to both the Windows device manager and the nVidia control panel, it does in fact have audio, the Windows Device manager shows 4 nVidia High Definition Audio items and in the nVidia Control panel there is an option called "Set Up digital audio" and in there it shows my Samsung as HDMI audio, under option 1 "Verify displays that will appear as audio devices in the Windows Sound Settings". When I look in Windows Sound Playback devices, it also shows Samsung and nVidia High Definition Audio.

But does it say it has Audio Return Channel (ARC) and does your TV support ARC and if so is your HDMI lead plugged into the ARC HDMI port?

    Edit

I've just downloaded the manual for your TV and it does not have audio return via HDMI (ARC) so your only real option is via an optical or 3.5mm jack.

Ah so that is the issue. Thank you so much. I will have to see if I can then upgrade my TV at some stage. Again, thank you for clarity.
