Toshiba L455 Sound Knob Not Working - Windows Only

I'm Back Seven Forums. This time, I got an issue that I did not expect.
I have a Toshiba L455 with Realtek audio. This laptop is now one year old from when I bought it, and I now dual boot Ubuntu and 7. Together, they have coexisted without killing each other, so I do not even think Ubuntu has anything to do with this issue. So when I was in 7 last week, I was typing a word document in Open Office and noticed I could not turn the volume up and down with the knob on the front of the laptop without clicking on the explorer bar. Now, no matter where I am, my knob won't work at all. Although I am yet to go through my startup programs to see if Windows turned something off, I do not believe this would be the issue either. But, it could be, due to I was doing some system maintenance to Windows, which, on a side note has got 7 back up to speed. Nice.....
So my question is, what happened to my sound knob working? It works in Ubuntu, everyday, without any error what-so-ever. Poor me, I cannot adjust my Foo Fighters or Nickelback up or down without using a GUI.
LOL, Thanks for any help guys!

    Hi,

Did you install the latest driver's for the so-called "Action Buttons"?

Toshiba Satellite L455 drivers for Windows 7 64-bit

You can also try this all-in-one driver navigator:

I did not see the "Action Drivers" on the list. Instead, I am trying the All-in-one solution with hopes it will work.
    Thanks, I'm hoping.

That first site just seems too spamy with all of those ads. The software wants me to buy it, and is spammy as well. I'll pass and get a direct download for the actually driver I want instead......

Unfortunately Toshiba does not have a good support. I have a HP and all the drivers for the most current operation systems are available for every machine!
    I'm sorry I can't help you...

Yeah, its fine. I understand you tried. Thanks for that though
Toshiba support, I'm a computer hacker (meaning I mod software. Cracker means you break into other systems illegally). I always find a way. Some things I choose not to though, because I like or need the real way to work.
As for HP, I heard from CNet that HP will be doing Servers and server software only. So support may not be there, but it won't be there like other companies. Honestly, Apple has had the best support. Though some reps are too Jolly. LOL
    Thanks anyway.
    Anybody else?

[OffTopic] Apple has the best support because they only have 2 types of machines... You have a huge amount of choice for any other brand, and that has it's good and bad points. I like windows the most just because you have that much choice.
I think HP Pretty much matches the support of apple, if you go to their website you have a collection of drivers and stuff like that.

Always eager to discuss the duel of the fates,

[Offtopic as well xD] Yeah, and that is why I like Apple. Stuff just works. Now don't get me wrong, 7 is MS's best OS out there yet. Given though, I have only began using computers since Windows 2000 (I am a younger one). I only remember what happened in XP, Vista, and now 7. I use to own an old HP a300y. That was a decent machine, I kinda wished I kept it now. Anyway, they have excellent support as well on HP's website. The only reason I ended up with this machine was because this was a combo deal at Best Buy. Everything in my specs (except the extras) and a laptop bag and HP printer. All for $500. Now I see this laptop is worth $350 -400, so the price has not really gone down that much. Given that though, I assume that the printer/bag was worth $100. Personally (and hey, this may not be what people want to hear), I have been using Linux now for one year. Sure, not a long time but longer than most people in this world. I love it, it works well if I don't screw with it/mod it, and is always fast. 7 here was taking a long time to bootup and login, well over one minute. That, was not right. So after some startup program dumping, getting rid of some programs, cleaning out the HDD, getting rid of some other stuff, and leaning the system back down, it works well. I get a startup and login with me entering in the password in about 35 seconds. Now that IMO for Windows is pretty good. Though I admit, doing the same thing with Ubuntu is getting me clocked in at 27 seconds. Not much faster, but when you run tasks it is faster. If you ever want to try it, make yourself a Live CD and get ready to change. That is one thing people won't do. Be it going from XP to 7 or Mac to Windows, however, people won't change. They don't want to. That is what makes Linux such a hard thing for people. They don't want to change, so we don't get that many new users, mainly younger ones. But, besides my computing experience with it, (and I am not going into what) Linux has changed my life. I have made many friends, found new games and software (for windows) and am really enjoying it.
So, after all of that, I am willing to say that I will discuss it any day. In my honest opinion, you may use whatever OS works for you. That is the point in several OSes. What works best for who.
That's just me, and I will discuss this any day.
