Front audio headphone jack reversed stereo...

I have a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 motherboard with on-board sound by Realtek, and my case is Thermaltake's "Element G".

I connected the front panel audio cable to the designated connection on the motherboard, however, whenever I plug-in my headphones, the stereo is reversed! Meaning that the headphone for the Right ear is playing the audio channel for the Left ear, and vice versa.

I end up having to wear my headphones in reverse to enjoy correct stereo sound.

I checked the front panel audio connection to the motherboard, thinking that maybe I plugged it in the wrong way or something, but apparently there is only one way to plug it in.

My first guess was that this was a design flaw with the case, and that they mixed up the audio channel connections in the front panel. However, when I plugged my headphones DIRECTLY to the REAR audio jack, it's exactly the same story!

The fact of the matter is that the on-board audio is mixing up the stereo channels! I actually remember that on my previous computer with on-board audio it was the same exact problem.

1) Is this a known issue with on-board sound cards in general?

2) Most importantly, is there any way I can fix this in Windows 7? Reverse the stereo channels so that they are outputted correctly?

i was only joking , did spend about half an hour though , the amount of suggestions on forums to turn the headphones around were unbelievable. why the hell you would do that if you have ergonomically designed headphones i dont know.
