This worked 100% on my Maximus II Formula...however everyone should note that the Maximus III Formula is a completely differend sound card...its not a SupremeFX....its a VIA...so the actual sound card driver will not work on the Rampage either. However the Creative App worked fantastically...even the audio enhancements if you actually like those! (I prefer natural sound)

As for that case...LAME, Antec makes great PSU's but their cases are terrible...what is the crave with them. My suggestion...get the new Thermaltake Element T (I know what your thinking about it being a Thermaltake haha...but you will be blown away!) It is the same type of gaming case...and you can fit your PSU...although it will be tight...it will go for sure...heck I have a GTX260 with an Accelaro Xtreme cooler on it (adding 2 inches to the already 10.5 inch GPU)

Well, with the solution I wrote before, wich is actually a bundle of all solution that I found in this thread... IT WORKED !!!!

Now I have full access to my 24Bit HD sound with Soundmax, and all the software XFI bundles works just as intended...wich is, after all, prety sad since its not that good, all emulated so...not that good, but I have to say,. its the best onboard sound I ever heard :P
and since the Micro ATX rampage 2 gene does give 2 PCIEXpress slot..it only gives one PCI...the onboard is a good help hehe

    So basically :
    - uninstall all you have already installed for Soundmax and XFI
    - Create admin account in Windows 7
    - reboot
    - Right click on Setup.exe(red icon from CD) <run as admin>
    - Right click on setup.exe(red icon from CD) compatibily mode= vista SP1
    - install Soundmax from the Asus install windows
    -reboot
    - install the XFI bundle form the same CD Asus frame
    - reboot
    - Enjoy !

jfast85 you know there is a Windows 7 repackage from ASUS right? You don't need to do that with the creative app anymore, just the sound driver...but even then, I never had to.

Man, that sucks, I don't know what else to say. What exactly is it that does not work right? Have you tried your sound card on Windows XP (Not Vista)? Maybe you have a rare issue with your specific card? I wish things were as easy for you as they have been for me...the crazy part is I am now running 64bit and it still works. Which model board do you have btw?

Well after several installs/uninstals of the x-fi utility I managed to get mine working from the driver on the CD provided with the MB. Now the panel works almost fine but i have no sound from the woofer the sattelites are working just fine(i have a 5.1 Genius). If i check the box to swap center/subwoofer controls the woofer is working just fine but i have no sound from my center. What should I do?
(I have W7 as os and tried to install the latest utility for my card from Asus forums but when i try to click on the speakers tab in the console it's crashing every time)
PS: Sorry for my bad english

Well guys, the Maximus II Fomula offical drivers are out. No need to mess around anymore. They just came up online today (that I noticed), even though they have not put the windows 7 ready logo, if you go to the driver downloads, they are there!!!!! Finally I can run speeding HDD and a proper sata driver for the marvell 6x. The rampage ii drivers are the same I believe.
