    Hi Rod,

    I don't think that you can do that. If you mean can you adjust the treble and bass levels during playback, then yes this is possible if you have an equalizer installed. If playing through Windows Media Player, then this is accessible by right-clicking on the screen, mousing to Enhancements over the popup menu that appears and then clicking Graphic Equalizer.

    For example, this shows a still from the film Kind Hearts and Coronets with the equalizer showing.

    An alternative way, and one that can also enhance the method I described above, is to adjust the equalizer settings through your audio driver interface (if it supports this feature).

    Of course you can adjust the soundtrack in any media file. It's just a matter of decoding, processing and re-encoding the audio stream. Mind you, that does cause quality loss so the EQ-during-playback method is far better.
    I'm impressed that Goldwave handles sound within .avi files so easily.
