    sound is too low problem

    Hello

I am suffering from a too low sound in my headset .. it's new and tried on other windows and it's great

it was really fine when I was using Xp Sp3

but since I installed 7 Ultimate..the sound became 50% less

I raised all the available sounds and still the same

    Can u Help plz ?

PS: I went to My computer - Manage - Device Manager - and it's all quite good and drivers seem to be installed

    Thanks in advance

With your media player running, right click on the speaker icon in notification area (bottm right of taskbar) and select "Open volume mixer" and adjust volume there. If the icon isn't showing you can Run > sndvol to open volume mixer.

Next, try this: Control panel > Sound > Communications tab: tick "Do nothing".
Also, back in Volume mixer, you might see if it helps to mute System sounds.

I'm assuming you did this one already but if not: In Sound dialog, select your output device, click on Properties, and Levels tab and increase sound there. Also play with the Enhancements tab - try disabling all sound effects; if no luck, then try what "Loudness equalization" does for you.

Then for headphones, try configuring for stereo: In Sound dialog, select output, then click on Configure, select Stereo. Then click next and see what happens if you select Full range speakers, then Next and Finish. I'm not using headphones, so I can't say. But this last move makes a noticeable difference when playing through quality desktop or floorstanding speakers.

usually headphone jacks don't have high volume levels. (helps prevent you from going def)

What media player do you use? Do you use Windows Media Player 12? By default, its volume levels are not set to maximum on Windows Media Player 12 so please check that. If this is not the problem, I assume this might be a problem with the sound driver even though its listed as OK on the Device Manager. You may also check hardware driver updates from Windows Update which is on the Control Panel.

I had some sound problems too with Windows 7, my front panel jacks has no sound output and my rear panels have weaker sound output than expected that was until I installed a compatible driver from Realtek. The front panel jacks were working again. And the rear panel jacks went better too. My advise would be to plug your headset on another jack and see if it works. Depending if your sound adapter supports it, you might have to install a driver from Realtek. Check this link:

Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Then after you're done with that, follow what I did to configure Realtek's settings on a screenshot on the link below:

Bummer, but now you've done all the normal things. Vertex might be on to something abnormal about the jacks so let us know if you sort this out. Look at this funny comment from another forum:

"My computer suddenly got this low sound -problem and I tried literally everything to bring the sound levels back to normal. Then I noticed that (for some very mystic and strange reason) the sound levels were normal if I plugged my speakers in the front jack of the computer and something in the rear jack. Now I keep broken headphones in the rear jack to keep the problem away. Strange, but it works for me."
