    No Audio Windows 7

    Howdy

I have just installed windows 7 32bit on one of my desktop machines. I am basically updating the system from widows vista which at this time is loaded in my other hard drive. It is basically a dual boot at this stage.

The problem is I have no sound on my windows 7 OS but I do have sound on my vista OS on the other drive.

The windows 7 instalation is running perfectly otherwise but just no sound.

Device manager says all drivers are good.

Ive downloaded a windows 7 compatable audio driver from the Gigabyte web site and installed that but to no avail.

    My speakers arent muted either.

I have clicked around most sound related menues on the system but cant work it out.

I dont know all system specs but it has 4 Gig of ram and it has a gigabyte EP45-UD3L mainboard, Nvidia GT440 Graphics.

    Help apreciated.

    Thanks

Right click on the speaker in your system tray, select playback devices, what is selected as the default with the green check?

Probably the driver but am unsure what audio device you have. If you right click the speaker>playback devices>choose yours.

Does the volume bar go up when you are playing something?

OK i got the sound back but I cant understand how this works. Recapping Windows 7 32bit. Dual boot. Vista on one drive, Windows 7 on the other.

Sound in Vista system, no sound Windows 7 system with speakers plugged into back of tower.

Now in desperation Ive plugged the speakers into the front of the machine into the speaker port there. Wola Windows 7 now has sound.

    Can someone understand this?

    Thanks
