Windows does not recognise new soundcard

I have windows 7 Premium and I have been using my onboard sound (realtek) which came with my Motherboard (ROG Maximus IV).

I then purchased the Asus HDAV 1.3 Deluxe soundcard and installed in my PCI-E slot. The soundcard was not recognised by my pc at all. When I tried to install my driver, it stated that the card wasn't plugged in. I tried every PCI-E slot and eventually took it out and returned it. The shop I bought it from did prove that the card worked fine.

I then purchased the Auzentech X-Fi Home Theater card. Installed that in my PCI-E slot and again it is not recognised. When I try to install the drivers it just tells me that the card isn't installed. Windows has assigned generic driver but states it is not plugged in.

I have since given up (But kept the card) and have gone back to using onboard.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

When you tried the cards, did you check what was showing in Device Manager?

As you've tried two cards without success, there may be a problem with your motherboard.

Windows failing to recognise printer
I've had an HP Deskjet 2510 for about a year. Right from the start there have been times when I get a message that the device has not been recognised, but this usually goes away next time I log in. When it hasn't, during the last twelve months I've uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times...

Windows 7 Does not recognise my External HD after installing SSD
Hi all, I am sorry to raise this issue again, but I have searched the forum and tried everything I can find. I recently tried to upgrade my computer by installing a new OCZ Agility III SSD. I didn't really want to reinstall windows as it is an OEM install and I dont have the disk. I therefore...

Windows Won't Recognise EasyCAP
I've just got a brand new EasyCAP capture card and my computer won't recognise it. In device manager it appears as SM-USV 007 in "Other Devices", and none of the tutorials i've been looking at say that. They all recognise EasyCAP as a capture card. My other problem is that my laptop won't read the...
Windows 7 setup won't recognise any HDDs
I'm trying to install Windows 7 and the setup isn't recognising any of my hard drives. I know they work because I've tested them on another computer. Odd thing is the BIOS just says 'Hard Drive' rather than listing the manufacturer and model like it usually does. Any ideas why this might be...
