Sound Card Seems to Shut Off After a Certain Amount of Time

I'm running my sound through a Line 6 KB37 interface and out through some studio monitors. However yesterday after having Spotify on from 30 - 60mins the sound stopped, Spotify crashed, i tried to restart and explorer.exe couldn't shutdown because it was stuck trying to play the logoff sound. I force restarted it and it turned into a BSOD. Today the same thing has happened after about 30mins of watching a film. The sound stopped and media player crashed. I tried to watch a youtube video after this and it wouldn't buffer it and crashed my browser. I checked my device manager and it said all my sound devices were working properly. Any ideas?

I doubt that it's the sound that is causing it. There is some other system problems.

(I have a studio currently with Sonar X1 but I recently installed PT MP9 and will be moving to Pro Tools later).

Do you have any idea what else could cause this? My volume control freezes and everything, and i have to force restart to fix it.

In device manager my audio devices are AMD High Definition Audio Device, Bluetooth Handsfree Audio, IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and my Line6 KB37. Is it possible that one of these is conflicting with the KB37 or something? Device manager says they're all working properly :S

I would open Event Viewer as administrator and look for errors it may show. Look under Admin Events, Application, System, and Hardware Events.

If it happens after 30 minutes consistantly, I'd look at your Power Option settings and set both to Never then see if this stops. If not then I'd look under the Advanced settings especially the USB and Multimedia settings.

You could also be having heat issues. If you don't have it, download CoreTemp and check the processor temps with it.
