Hi.
Check this System Icons - Turn On or Off
Follow this step,Right click on the taskbar and click on Properties.........
Click on the start orb, click on Computer, click Harddisk(drive), click Windows, then click System 32. Scroll down to SndVol (icon), right click and pin it to the task bar.
Jacee, that pins an icon of a speaker to the task bar. There's no volume slider. Different from the one I lost.
Wow, this is complicated. I followed your link. Open control panel. Easy. All items view? I don't see that option. I see category, large icons, small icons. I don't see a system icons icon. I messed around with the task bar, got my icon back, but I also have all the icons that used to be in a my action center spread out on my taskbar.
A) Control Panel\Notification Area Icons Unselect the "Always show all show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" (view attachment)
B) Click Turn system icons on or off and there select which icons you want,in your case set volume On (view attachment)
On the taskbar click the show hidden icons arrow and select "customize"
then go through the list selecting whether to show icons and notifications or only show notifications etc to get the icons off the taskbar.
select show icon and notification on the volume icon and see if it returns on the taskbar.
I appreciate the help, but found the suggestions confusing. So I used system restore. Got my action center and volume slider icon back.
