Playing recorded sound through the mic input

This is an odd question but I am hoping someone knows what I am wanting to do.

I have a job where I constantly say the same stupid line when I answer the phone. Its a software phone and what I want to do is, record my greeting via the sound recorder, then play it back THROUGH the audio pickup as though I am speaking it through the microphone as usual, not through my computer speakers.

Is there a way to do this? It would so make my job more bearable.

I'm guessing you have to keep saying 'Have you tried turning it off, and turning it back on again'

LOL no no.. its my greeting. Its the same thing and I cant really vary it, and when you get call after call after call it gets to feel so monotonous and boring.. it comes through my voice even. So I thought that if I recorded my greeting and played it when I first get a call, it wont feel quite so boring.

Sorry for taking the 'you know what'.

Its just that there used to be a sitcom here in the UK called The IT Crowd where the phone support guy got so fed up of saying that phrase, he rigged up an automatic tape recorder to his phone to say it for him.
