Hello, I have a problem with my audigy es and windows 7.

The problem is with two outputs and directx. I select 4.1 speaker settings and cmss: stereo surround in audio console, and then I select quadraphonic in windows speaker setup. When I am using ASIO, there is no problem, and I get the sound from the two outputs, one using for speakers, and the other for headphones. But, in other programs I get no sound from the second output. Also, a strange thing is that when I test the speakers in windows speaker setup they actually work, all four of them, but not for windows sounds, in winamp, bsplayer, etc. The second output also works in games, but only sound, not music.

Please help me, I am desperate :)

nik85, welcome to the Seven Forums.

That sounds about right. Unless the source is encoded in more than stereo, all you will get is stereo playback. Most music (unless DVD-A), Windows sounds, are all stereo sources whereas games that are working in 4/4.1 are encoded in 5.1/surround, hence why you're getting sound out of all 4 speakers. You need to use CMSS 5to get more than stereo from a stereo source.

    Thanks for the response.

Ok, I understand that, I tried using CMSS but it doesn't help. Only when I put it on CMSS 2 I get the sound but it is really horrible, it couldn't be listened to. Moreover, I didn't have problems with Windows XP. Is there something I could try?

About that best you can hope for for that old card is to try and install the last XP driver for it,

Creative Worldwide Support > Sound Blaster PCI 128

    using compatibility mode,

    Compatibility Mode

Is the rest of the computer of similar vintage, or is it newer? Depending on what you have you would probably be better of using the onboard sound.

Does that go for a pci128 ct4700 with 5507 chipset also? Okay I read a few more post old card not really a Creative audio... So lets forget it and I'll go out and buy a new card. Thanks!

    Hi all,

I have sound blaster xi-fi xtreme music. Should i install this pack SB X-Fi PCI Install Disc 1.0 (unofficial) - Creative Labs for windows 7 x64 ?
I think it's a PCI card so yes.. if it's not right the installer will refuse to install the drivers

There are at least two threads on the Creative Labs forums concerning lost sound with the X-Fi cards, and a lot of frustrated CL card owners.

X-Fi Titanium - speakers lost from audio playback devices

    Sound disapears

The common features seem to be Windows 7 64-bit and an SSD drive. Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them cures the problem for a few hours / days, but it always returns. Are there any other makes of sound card exhibiting similar problems? Can we isolate the problem to CL or W7+64-bit+SSD?

ha Stormy this thread i open since a while now dont you get exhausted

ok i bought a new creative X-Fi titanium Fatality this week.Bad thing is - it has no remote control..
So i was thinking about using my platinum x-fi with windows 7 64bit.

Sure i know this would give me some problems-And here i am!

I have disabled my mainboard audio via Bios to get a message in windows device manager (explaantion mark) saying it does not know what the hack is installed in that PCI slot lol.

So what can i do here?Install the "XFI_SupportPack_2_0" you mentioned earlier?

What about all my cool softwares can i use them too or should i better skip that remote control feature and run the new titanium soundcard?

at least it seems that the support pack does NOT list my platinum card...

    - Creative SB X-Fi PCI (except Xtreme Audio)
    - Creative SB X-Fi PCI OEM SB077x (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Fujitsu etc)
    - Creative SB X-Fi Titanium PCI-E
    - Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1
    - Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1

    edit:
i installed it for a testing. And it seems to wotk with my 7.1 speakers.
But my Front module is dead - so i cant use my mic In2 and no remote.

ah this sucks.i guess ill try the ne titanium until something better is coming out

    beta drivers

    Sorry, but I'm not convinced.
Untested, no guarantees, no mention of them fixing the main problem.
I think I'll give them a miss until they are an official release that claims to fix all problems.
I'm currently running the Pax drivers, and so far they have continued to work for over 2 weeks, although the sound quality is poor in my case - lots of pops and crackles and distortion, but at least sound!
