Just a bit of an addition to this as I have seen a few posts with people with Creative cards (can happen to the others too) where when they try to install the drivers they get the ever popular,

"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio Card on your system."

In most cases this can be fixed by installing the driver manually. First download the driver appropriate to your card (links to most Creative cards in the first post), then use something like Winrar or 7Zip to extract the downloaded driver file. Next follow the tutorial here (for Vista but the same applies for Windows 7),

Device Manager - Install Driver - Vista Forums

When you get to step #9 the file you want to point it to is,

for the Audigy SE/LS/DE/Value and X-Fi Xtreme Audio is P17.INF

for all X-Fi cards (except the above Xtreme Audio) and the rest of the Audigy series (1, 2 and 4) the file is wdma_emu.inf

In most cases the above files are located in the Drivers\WDM folder in the extracted folder. If the driver installs successfully, you should then be able to install any of the applications that have been updated to work with Vista (and will/should work with Windows 7); best to use one of the modded driver packs for this.
hmm i couldent quit understand what you meant with step 9

I have read through this forum and My Problem is close to some that have been posted. My problem with my X-Fi titanium is my mic. When I use it on vent or in the Steam games it sounds like im talking through a fan. My on-board sound is a Fx card. I install it and it works great. I was running an Audigy 2 zs Platinum and it did the same exact thing as the X-Fi. I have tried alot of what you guys have and it doesnt work. I also couldn't get windows to recognize my card until I deleted everything and pulled it out of the system and booted the computer with no card in the system then shut it down, unplug, re-installed the card, plug up, and boot up then it saw the card.
Im starting to believe that the problem is IRQ addresses. My sound is on IRQ 16 Along with 5 other things, one being my Video card which even back in the dos days was a NO NO. As far as I know there is no way to change the IRQ in windows 7. Something is going to have to be done about that. Any Suggestions?????

Goat if you haven't yet, make sure you have any and all input options (including microphone) under Playback muted. May or may not fix it, but it should help.

As far as the IRQ assignments, it shouldn't matter. One thing to do if you haven't is to disable anything and everything you can in the bios that is unused (serial post if present, make sure onboard audio is disabled, etc). Don't know if it will make any difference with the PCI-E slots, but from looking at your motherboard (3 PCI 1x slots) and based on the video card you have, maybe try putting the sound card in a different slot.

Thanks stormy13. I have tried muting all the input options and it still didn't help. I will try the different pci-e slot next. I have 3 but one is covered up by the vid card, and tight on the 3rd but will try and let you guys know how it turns out.

Update: Ok I changed slots, boy that was tight. I had to put a piece of paper between it and my vid card to make sure it will not short out...lol.
It was an IRQ problem just like I had thought. When I changed slots it moved my IRQ from 16 to 13 and now it works fine. So all you people who have snaps and crackles in there sound try and move the card to a different slot if you can and if you can't maybe windows will allow you to move IRQ's when they come out with SP1.

=S It shouldn't be that close to the vid card lol

Oh and another thing you could try was to re-set the bios or set a different IRQ for the audio in the bios. That way you don't have to take things apart.

My bios will not let you set the IRQ. Other motherboards I have had in the past would but this one will not, at least on the 205 version it will not and I didn't see anything about it on the other 2 updated versions either. Which is strange indeed. Maybe Microsoft should consider adding to there next update for 7 the functionality of letting the user be able to change the IRQ's. :)

Oh and Thanks Guys for the help..

No wouldn't work so well, because each manufacturer has different bios setups and so it would be to hard to control from windows. It's the same reason they have a different OC program for different motherboards, even different revisions.... Also the IRQ's need to be set up before the OS is booted, because the OS handles talking to the driver, and that talks to the bios.... The bios handles talking to the hardware for the OS. I just don't see that as a good solution to add to win7, as they probably have thought about that for years.... IRQ conflicts aren't as common now anyways.
