AFAIK shutdown hanging is because of faulty CTAudSvc.exe and not becuase of DDL/DTS pack. You can get "fixed" CTAudSvc.exe on Creative beta FTP, but you need to install it manualy.

Drivers for Win7 do not support What U Hear recording

Great resource about Creative drivers! Thanks for posting.

However -- please note that Creative has admitted the new Win7 drivers DO NOT support What U Hear recording on X-Fi Audio and certain X-Fi Audigy adapters. My X-Fi Extreme Audio card handled What U Hear recording just fine under Win XP, but does not record under Win7. Creative tech support has confirmed this. So if you go to Win7 and need to record What U Hear, you will need a new sound card.

I posted the Creative tech support e-mail elsewhere on this forum. A big raspberry to Creative. Nice way to sell new adapters.

Thanks Crispy. Saw that yesterday on the Creative forums and was just waiting on a bit of feedback there before updating the links. Other than one happy person the only other thing about them so far is one guy who's AV threw a wobbly and threw up a couple of false positives (Comodo, which also did it back in October last year).

P.S. Have you tried them and how are they?

No it won't. As I understand how the Xmod works, it is a totally self-contained audio device that uses the default USB drivers from the OS with nothing else to install.
