Unfortunately, I do not have a cable, I suppose it should be on a pc case, but I built this motherboard in a car
    and I planned 4.1 sound
yes analog line-level via an internal heder -but in the realtek manager there is no option for only stereo

Yes, it is something like this : StarTech.com 7.1 Channel Sound Card - PCI Express: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

picture shows expansion card connected to audio header via ribbon cable. expansion card is meant for low profile computer cases.

You should have such expansion card and ribbon cable with Intel box. I know of no other replacement cable.

yes but where to buy only the cable with header & jack 3.5 end
    be sure to work it.
the only way is to go with optical S/PDF to D/A converter end amp

Hi, neilsouth, Quite interesting tutorial of changing jack position to get the audio.
I have a realtek speakers and the output plug is plugged in the green jack of the three jack provided at the rear of the pc.
I now have a hdmi connection, which implies both video and jack is transmitting through it.
But, i doubt that if I enable hdmi as default device, the audio test bar shows green upraising of audio signal, but no audio could actually be heard . Normal analog sound could be heard if i select the deafult speakers, i think analog speakers.
I am giving here the jack information from the general properties of the hdmi device as shown.

how do I change it to suit the hdmi connection please
I have added a registry key as per the instructions in the first post, as there was no key in my registry has that label.
