I also have an X-Fi card and have not had this issue. Are you sure you have the latest drivers and updates for the card?

do you have a microphone (or anything else) plugged into your card?

any reason why you don't have it running at full volume?

i've got an x-fi gamer too, and i've not had any problems with the card (so far .)

You using just the Creative drivers, or are you using the daniel_k set?

Not that it helps any, but like the other two I haven't had this happen on my Xtreme Music.

Ofcause , you wont find anything older on my comp!

Build computers myself so , it's only started doing it today. I'm using Daniel_K's set which he updated with the latest drivers from creative , never happend on vista or the old versions of windows 7

XFI XtremeGamer , check the link i'm not the only one..

    ooop another reply

You know what, I would be playing WoW and WMP in the background with music, and my music would fluctuate in sound.

I haven't had it happen in a while, I dunno what changed it.

No nothing , i do have it running at full volume in software , not speakers though because the house down the road will hear it .. i've also tried 80% in software.

As i said it's fluctuating , like someone is wacking up the volume for a period of 30secs then down again... Then it will go up again and down again , very odd

Just a note about those drivers though. I used those once just to see what the big deal was and they bombed. I wouldn't use anything that isn't found on the creative site.
