auto detect headset plugin

I want my computer to auto detect when I plugin my headset and change the sound output to it.

currently I have 2 sound jacks, one at the front of the computer and one at the rear, and a speaker inside the computer (built in)
to the back jack i have my regular speakers and the front I plug my headset when i want to use them.

the problem is that every time i want to use my headset i need to go to the "playback devices" menu and switch it manually. then when I unplug my headset the in-speaker goes on, and I need to go back to the "playback devices" and change back to the rear sound jack.

with my old computer (xp) all this was done automatically (though I didn't have a in-speaker).

I don't have a sound card- its all on board - and I don't know what chip-set or whatever is in charge of the sound, so I don't know if installing the right driver will do the trick. in the meantime I am using Microsoft default drivers.

is there any way to set a priority list for my sound output?

thanks for the help!

Windows 10 64 bit

I found a RealTek driver on the HP site that MAY work
HP Compaq dx2300 Microtower PC*-* Realtek Vista HD Audio Driver - ODM - HP Business Support Center
Give it a try, if it does work OK it MAY fix the switching problems. The Generic Windows HD Audio Codec sound driver does not always work correctly and probably why you have the problem. However, if the linked RealTek driver does not work, you will probably have to put up with the way it works now.

though the driver you found did not work. it helped me to understand what to search for- it led me to: RealTek generic HD audio driver Driver Download
and installing it fixed my problems.
