Sony Vaio - Windows Installer popping up Bug

    Hey everyone,

Recently I've bought a Sony Vaio and I have uinstalled two aplications that I would never use, they are Sound Forge Audio Studio 10.0 and ACID Music Studio 8.0 and since then I'm having problems with my notebook. It is a Windows 7 64 bits.

The problem is that a Windows Installer window keeps popping up and it suddenly exit without me even knowing what it is doing or installing.

It is driving me crazy, since I did not make a backup so I could go back to an older date and fix it.

I have already ran CCleaner and Front Line Registry Editor and it didn't fix it.

    Could anyone PLEASE help me.

Pebbly, I have JUST installed Sony Vegas too, and I deleted the folders under My Documents. I'm updating Sony Vaio via the Sony Care, IF it doesn't stop I will restore it as you said it.

But am I going to HAVE to keep those aplications even without using them, ever?

Hi SaulMageste, No you do not have to keep them, Most of the experienced users on here always recommend deleting the OEM "bloatware" most of which are normally trialware lite programs etc etc ,Will do a search for info for you :)

Hey Pebbly, I will look into all of that you mentioned. I did uninstall these Sony crapware and the problem persists BUT I think I have found the application that is afecting it, I think it is VcmMgrNotification64.exe

If I was quick enough, I followed the Windows Installer window to that EXE. I'll see what I can find about it, but I will certainly restore my notebook and update it this weekend, since my connection here isn't as good as when I'm at home.

    Thank you my friend.

Thank you Pebbly. I'll keep on trying to find the cause of this thing because it is killing my patience on the notebook that I'm almost regreting buying a Sony Vaio.

I just figured out it isn't that .EXE because I killed the process and it keeps apearing that Windows Installer thing, getting me off my fullwindowed games. And just to end it off the system restore you mentioned didn't work well, it restarted showing a error saying it couldn't restore.

Oh well, I'll see what I'll do from now on.

    Cheers mate.
