    PC sound stutters

This may be a little OT, but I don't know where else to turn. I've tried several of the sound system forums but haven't gotten any help.
I'm having trouble with the audio system on my computer. When I play a YouTube video or even just an audio CD, it will play fine for a while and then stutter and buzz for a second and then resume playing. It happened on my old computer and I tried everything I could think of to make it work. I put in more memory (upped to 8gbytes), a new graphics card (a GeForce GTS450), a new sound card to replace the on-board sound card on the MSI motherboard, all to no avail. Finally, I just replaced the computer. I got an Intel I5 system (a 4 core 2.8Ghz processor) with 8gbytes of main memory using an MSI P67A-G45 motherboard. I'm using the same graphics card (the GTS450), and I'm currently using the on-board sound card and LAN interface (which is rated at up to 1000 Mbps). I am running Windows 7 64-bit home premium. I even replaced the speakers. At first, I thought that this had solved the problem, but I was wrong. It is still happening. I don't understand. This new system should be able to handle anything audio or video related that I want to do (I'm not a gamer so I'm not worried about that).
Would anyone have an idea what is wrong? It's driving me crazy. I just want to be able to listen to my music and YouTube videos without them stopping and stuttering in the middle.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Mark

yes, I'm encountering the same problem. I thought I was the only one lately.
I have an HP p6754Y desktop with just a corsair psu and gts 250 (old video card from friend). I had issues with ram so I rma'ed it earlier this week and it is not the problem since I still happens. listening to music and gaming are when it happens to stutter

I finally got the problem to stop for me. So far it's been effective after several days and several restarts so it's looking good.

    Remove the following file:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\IAANTmon.exe

WARNING: Many sites do NOT recommend removing this but it's worked for me with no ill effects.

This file seems to be related to RAIDs. It might have been installed when I attached a new networked hard drive to my computer.

Maybe the more knowledgable of you can figure out how this relates.

Using the Resource Monitor was able to see that there was a very distinct CPU spike every 30 seconds which was causing the AV and mouse issues. I'm sure it was causing an entire system glitch but those are things that we are able to easily notice erratic behavior.

I sure hope this helps get the problem addressed.

In situations like thiis, I just rename the extension from .exe to something else (like .old), and it won't be executed. You still have the file just in case.
