How to automatically change audio device when inserting HDMI cable?

    Hello,
My lapotop is HP Pavilion 9750 running Windows 7 Enterprise (with the latest updates). When I'm inserting the HDMI cable to view my screen on the TV it automatically shows the video, but I have to manually change the default playback from "Speakers" (Realtek High Definition Audio) to "Realtek Digital Output" (Realtek High Definition Audio) so I could hear the audio from my TV and not from the computer.

Is there a way to make that switch automatically when I connect/disconnect the HDMI cable?

    Thanks!

Apparently the video card you have does not have on-board audio (chip) and must get the audio for HDMI from the S/PDIF (Digital) connection on the motherboard. This type of operation, in cases I've dealt with, will not autiomatically switch the audio playback device.

On newer video cards with the HDMI audio built on the video card, this type in most cases will automatically switch the audio playback.

Thank you for your fast reply. I guess it's time for a new computer anyway :)
