Microphone problem
Ok, so I have tried and tried, I've been to countless forums and browsed countless threads trying to figure out how to get my microphone to work. The other day I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 64-bit, everything was working fine before hand. I upgraded the drivers on my on board sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio), which are currently dated 7/15/09. After digging around it appears that for some reason the OS is not detecting the microphone jack input jack (pink jack) on the back of my mother board and therefore will not detect the microphone. When I plug it into the line in jack (blue jack), it detects a microphone but nothing will record. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers countless times, I have checked the hardware a dozen times over and cannot for the life of me figure out what is going on. I have checked mute buttons, and turned up the volume where-ever possible. Any of you guys have any suggestions for me?
Here are my current specs:
Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz
5 GB RAM
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
Fatality analog gaming headset.
thanks
Sean
