    Microphone No Longer Working

Installed the latest version of Skype and used it happily. However, everytime the pc is restarted/awoken from hibernation, I have to go into Skype's setup and choose the microphone device to get it to work.

I went to Control Panel and basically tried to remove and then put back references to the Microphone with the result of me now not having a responding mic!

I tried adding a new device but the detection part of this just sat there and did nothing.

Is there a guide to doing a 'clean' install of the microphone?

The speaker's working fine, by the way.

The first place to look rather then trying to remove and then reinstall would be in the Control Panel>Sound"Recording area where you can set the default device as well as run the configuration wizard.

The other thing that can be a larger help when first coming out of sleep or the hibernation mode is simply seeing a full system restart to refresh all drivers and devices. The main problem with any device or drivers is simply remaining inactive after restoring the desktop from either of those two modes.

I ran the troubleshooting option via the Recording area and all is well.

    Thank you very much.
