i have disabled the vga and then reenabled it. a scratchy sound could be heard at the moment of reenabling but no sound option change. i installed the latest sound drivers some days ago.

You should also try selecting screen resolution by right clicking on the desktop, have it so that desktop is extended across both displays.

If you are using a HDMI cable then there is no need to use a VGA cable. Unplug your VGA cable and then try to see if the sound works, and see if the TV appears in the sound options.

With a VGA cable you cannot get sound you need to use an audio jack cable like the one you use from your PC to your monitor.

So now the HDMI cable is the only cable connected to the TV, have you checked again in the sound options, and have you tried extending the screen to appear over both the computer monitor and the TV. When you have extended them check the sound options again.

If you where using a DVI cable in order to get sound through that cable then you should go to the PC option on your TV.

Right now i only have the hdmi cable connecting the pc and the tv. so i cannot extend. but i tried to extend it before so the pc was connected with the monitor via a DVI cable, and the pc was also connected with the tv via the HDMI cable. and still nothing happened.

You can extend the display so that it appears over both displays, right click on the desktop and choose screen resolution.
