Do you have any codec packs installed? If yes which one?

We usually suggest Sharks007's codecs. You can get it from here: Download Windows 7 Codecs 3.6.8 - FileHippo.com

Some steps that you may need to follow after installation of Sharks codecs.
  • Click on the
  • Scroll down to Shark007s codecs folder.
  • Expand it and select the settings application by right click run as administrator button.
  • On the bottom click on Shark007 SUGGESTED settings.
  • Lastly you will get a confirmation dialogue that all the videos will open with windows media player (but actually they will open with other players as well)
  • Attached is a picture as reference.

And some prefer the Klite Codec pack from this link: Download K-Lite Codec Pack 8.92 (Full) - FileHippo.com with basic next next next installation steps.

Install either of it but make sure you've removed any other codec packs previously installed.

Let us know how it goes.
